Spring 2023 Newsletter

We hope you are well and mindfully observing as the seasons change. We invite you to notice how your physical, emotional, spiritual bodies feel as the weather changes and days get longer (there is no right or wrong - observe and be).

The start of 2023 has been busy for us and we are excited to update you on our continued growth!

New Program: At the beginning of this month we started our newest program with the women housed in the Anoka County Jail. We are grateful to the Anoka County Jail programming staff for reaching out to us to provide weekly programming.

Mat Program: In March, we were awarded 40 new mats from the Give Back Yoga Foundation and lululemon’s Here to Be program! These mats will be given to participants of our programs to continue their practice from wherever! In addition, we received 20 gently used mats from CorePower Northeast Minneapolis that will be used for our new programming in facilities! Thank YOU to everyone who has donated, contributed and supported our Own Your Practice Mat Program.

Join our Board: We are ready to onboard two new board members to expand our support system! We will be posting more information regarding the open seats next week on our social media and LinkedIn. Please reach out if you are interested!

A note from Lauren: As a lot of you may know, I had ACL reconstructive surgery earlier this year. Recovery has been slow and steady and I’m very glad to be back facilitating some programming with Karuna. I want to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Karuna’s team of facilitators for their support and flexibility, to our Board Chair, Mike -  the Rock Jr - Millios, for constant check-ins and care, and to our larger community for all the love. Healing takes time and community is such an important part.

Many many thanks,

Lauren Kvasnicka and the Karuna Team
