A logo is usually a symbol, stylized name, or graphic image of some sort used to identify and visually represent a company, product, or organization. Since our existence, we have used various stylized name representations as our logo and we have indeed made a name for ourselves. Organizations, facilities, and participants often recognize our name, shirts, facilitators, and programming. However, our work and mission in partnership with participants and community members is more than a name. We are incredibly honored to be a trusted and sustainable organization within the facilities we work in and the people we serve. We are even more honored to hold and share the stories and growth of our participants. 

With this honor, early this year we put a call out to past and present program participants to submit a piece of art that represented Karuna Programming to them. This art would be used as our logo for the foreseeable future to represent our community and our work. Our team selected submissions from two individuals at the Ramsey Juvenile Detention Center. For the safety of the individuals and their continued journey we will refer to them as T and J. T and J submitted sketched drawings and letters that expressed how our programming felt to them. Expressing Warrior as a favorite pose and using the words "peacefulness, relaxation, and balance” to describe our programming. Members of our community suggested we combine the sketches to tell the story of two individuals, separate in the journey but together in growth, to represent us. With the assistance of the talented and lovely human, Gillilan at the Bitter Buffalo in Minneapolis, our new logo design, graphics, and shirts were put together.
